About The Neighborhood

North of Long Island City and with a similar, low-key pace, Astoria is an unpretentious, diverse middle-class neighborhood in Queens.

Known as the Greek capital of New York City, Astoria is also home to many immigrant families from all over the world, many who have lived in the neighborhood for generations. There is a large elderly population and it is popular with families, but the quick commute to Midtown Manhattan (15 minutes on the N/M/Q/R – all above ground) and reasonable rents have begun to attract a younger crowd. New luxury buildings are cropping up and are changing the landscape of the neighborhood, bringing an influx of new residents.
